Everything is happening quickly

As I mentioned in a previous post, our case worker at the adoption agency said they wouldn't be able to review our home study because of the missing FBI background check. So we were very pleasantly surprised when we found out that they are in fact reviewing the home study this week! The only person that can approve the home study will be on vacation for almost the whole month of June so we saved a month of waiting by getting it done before she left.
Then yesterday I received a phone call from our senator's office letting me know they had spoken with the FBI and our background checks had cleared and are in the mail to us! Once I receive them I will add them to our dossier and mail it off to the adoption agency. The dossier are reviewed every Friday. That means that if we pass the review next Friday we will . . .
BE OFFICIALLY ON THE WAITING LIST FOR OUR BABY GIRL!!!
The best I can tell from looking at the progress other people have made on the wait list is that you move up approximately ten spaces every month. So if we are number 60 on the list we can expect to wait about 6 months. Again, this is a very rough estimate of the wait.
At the start of this week I felt a bit discouraged and now I am giddy with excitement. Can we really be finished with the bulk of the paperwork?
