Crazy, busy weekend

I spent the entire weekend working on the adoption. I have finished all of the education and sent off the completion certificates and huge workbook to our agency to certify that I am done. I should hear back from them by the end of the week to verify that the education portion is complete.

I have to have our Power of Attorney state certified tomorrow (making a trip into Austin) and all the rest of our documents have been notarized. Our two reference letters and the letter from our accountant are in the mail. That means . . . we will have all of the documentation finished by Friday!

Now the only other thing we are waiting on is our darn FBI background check. We have to have that for our home study and dossier to be complete. But I am asking our agency to review our paperwork ahead of time and give us a tentative approval pending that background check. I also called our senator and asked them to contact the FBI on our behalf to try to speed up the process. I figured it was worth a try.

As soon as our dossier is complete we will go on the wait list! The newest estimate we received is that we can expect a referral (meaning the prospective child's info) in 7-8 months after we go on the wait list. Given the new time frame I think we can expect her photo sometime in the early months of next year. Wow! That seems both long and short. Long because we are so anxious to meet her and short because I still have a lot of money to raise and I am feeling very stressed about that. But I am keeping my faith and I know I can do it!
