Individual Meetings with Social Worker
>> Tuesday, May 4, 2010
Jed and I both met separately with the social worker that is doing our home study tonight. She spent 45 minutes with each of us and it was actually a pretty pleasant experience. She asked a lot about our childhoods and our families. We talked about our strengths and weaknesses and what brought us to our decision to adopt. She was friendly and easy to talk to. It is a weird situation, to sit and discuss personal matters with a stranger. But it makes me happy to know that they are being so careful in selecting parents for these kids!
We had our lab tests done today and I hope we can get the results back by Friday so we can give them to our social worker when she comes for the home visit on Saturday. The tests are just about the last piece of information that they need to write up the home study.
Jared and Laine are actually excited to meet with the social worker! They want to tell her all about their plans for "baby sissy" as they call her.
